Description
This piece was a manifestation of my need to rent a room in real life. Room for Rent, an assemblage fitted to a unique lattice frame uses only discarded wood. Some added stained wood completes the natural palette that is more concerned with composition than color. Layers of varied shapes create depth amongst the sharp, hard lined assemblage.
This work can absolutely be touched.
Interestingly, this sculpture would become the first that I would display at a local business. For one month, Room for Rent greeted visitors of Edie’s Eatery in Allentown, PA. It might have been for a longer period, but I chose to include the piece in a one-night-only exhibition at the Allentown Art Museum’s gala, Cocktails & Collecting, and the work sold that night.
