Tatteau is a fun study on mark-marking with pyrography. Doodles and illustrations cover a fully painted wood assemblage from edge to edge. Tatteau, pronounced tah-toe, is a standing sculpture that attempts to spotlight the ever popular tattoo culture. Constructed in the shape of a plateau, the work suggests a limit to adorning the human body with ink. Additionally, the sculpture’s shape provides a semi-natural “presentation” space for placing small trinkets. This work can absolutely be touched.
